How Are You Uniquely Wired to Push Back the Darkness?

A few weeks ago in the Go and Tell Gals office, we asked this no filter question:

What would the women in Ukraine hope we’re doing right now?

The ones who are distracting babies in bomb shelters or praying for their sons who are fighting on the streets… the women who are picking up weapons to defend their home… the women who are desperately checking on loved ones….

How can we love them well right now?

We settled on three thoughts, aided by accounts we heard from women actually in these scenarios, and Holy Spirit giving us insight:

  1. We can be moved and pray. No pretending everything is fine + shoving it down. Instead, let’s allow ourselves to feel compassion + go after God on their behalf.

  2. We can give intentionally. Personally, and as a business team, we decided to give to Irbin Bible Church because we have friends connected with this church, and we want to support the work they’re doing on the ground.

  3. We can use our God-given gifts to push back the darkness right where we’re at.

Whether it’s the pandemic, global conflict, or even just the trials of our own lives - we are all going to have to settle into the reality that darkness is all around us. Pain, strife, and brokenness have been around forever, and they’re here to stay. And we don’t want to be women who live in ignorance bliss OR paralyzed stress for the rest of our days.

  • You have been placed where you’re at on purpose to help bring the kingdom of God to earth.

  • You have been given a specific set of skills to bring the light right where you’re at.

  • You have been gifted strengths by a generous Father because He loves letting you use them for your joy and serving others for His glory.

And USING those gifts is one incredible way we can serve + strengthen the global church and the women around us.

If you don’t know what your gifts are or you’re having a hard time discerning how to use them, please take this free coaching video from me! I’d love to be on your team.

Comment on this photo and let me know: what does it look like for you to push back the darkness right where you’re at this week?
